  65 Xapian (and notmuch) will continue using the 1.2 era "chert" backend for\r
  66 existing databases. This is what I've been doing for some time now,\r
  67 using a chert backend with xapian 1.3. To force an upgrade to glass\r
  68 would require dump, move .notmuch out of the way, notmuch new, and\r
  69 restore. That should also work, since the test suite uses the glass\r
  70 backend, but I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble at this point. I\r
  71 know that the Xapian team is still doing performance tuning on the glass\r
  72 backend.\r
