+Well, I chose the relative-path assumptions intentionally. The idea is\r
+that if I move my mail from ~/Mail to ~/mail then the .notmuch directory\r
+moves with it and everything continues to work just fine.\r

+Compare the way .git works and the database stays with the source files\r
+compared to the way cvs works, (where I always seemed to end up with\r
+source files disconnected from the database).\r

+So I might need more convincing to move the database away from the mail.\r
