Hi everyone!\r
\r
I have just released version 0.3 of my terminal GUI `alot`; You can get a t=\r
arball here [0].\r
This release features many bugfixes, a revised config syntax and a fairly c=\r
omplete user and API\r
manual [1].\r
\r
Detailed usage updates since v0.21:\r
* revised config syntax!\r
* config file validation, better feedback on malformed configs\r
* themes read from separate files in their own (validated) syntax\r
* complete mailcap compatibility\r
* user manual\r
* direct addressbook type that parses `abook`s contacts\r
* completion for multiple recipients via AbooksCompleter\r
* completion for optional command parameter\r
* generate and set a Message-ID header when constructing mails\r
* add User-Agent header by default\r
* add sent and saved draft mails to the notmuch index and add custom tags\r
* guess file encodings with libmagic\r
* new thread mode command: "remove" to delete messages from the index\r
* new thread mode command: "editnew" e.g. to continue drafts (bound to 'n')\r
* new thread mode command: "togglesource" to display raw messages (bound to=\r
 'h')\r
* virtual "Tags" header for print and pipeto commands via --add_tags parame=\r
ter\r
* much improved pipeto command in thread mode\r
* --spawn parameter for reply,forward,compose,editnew in thread mode\r
* --no-flush parameter for delayed flushing in tag,untag,toggletags commands\r
* make "signature as attachment" configurable; --omit_signature parameter f=\r
or compose\r
* new envelope command: "save" to save as draft (bound to 'P')\r
* --no-refocus and --spawn parameter for edit in envelope mode\r
* header key completion for set/unset in envelope buffer\r
* "Me" substitution for ones own name/address in authors string\r
* new search mode command and search argument: "sort"\r
* renamed search mode command 'toggletag' to "toggletags"\r
* new search mode commands: "tag" and "untag"\r
* custom tagstring representation: hiding, substitution, colours, multi-mat=\r
ching\r
\r
Thanks goes to those who contributed:\r

 3 Stanislav Ochotnicky <sochotnicky@redhat.com>\r
 2 Tom Prince <tom.prince@ualberta.net>,\r
..everyone who send feedback and of course to all notmuch contributors.\r
\r
\r
After this release I will switch the git branching model [3], so expect the=\r
 "testing" branch to\r
retire soon.\r
\r
For the curious: The README.md lists some future goals together with their =\r
envisioned milestone\r
and pointers proof-of-concept implementations.\r
\r
I could use some help from packagers. It should be relatively straight forw=\r
ard to package alot\r
but I haven't bothered to read up on the python packaging docs for $YOUR_DI=\r
STRI. A minor\r
complication could be that the docs should be generated at build time, whic=\r
h would introduce\r
some build-dependencies (mostly sphinx) that aren't runtime deps. The insta=\r
llation section in\r
the manual lists all dependencies, licence is GPL3+, let me know if you nee=\r
d any more info.\r
\r
As always, don't hesitate to send feedback, bug reports, feature or pull re=\r
quests via the\r
projects github page [2].\r
\r
Cheers,\r
/p\r
