Unfortunately, newlines do not appear to be legal in this position. For example: $ if [ -n "a" -a > -n "b" ]; then echo "c"; fi bash: [: missing `]' bash: -n: command not found This commit fixes the error by explicitly wrapping the line with a backslash.
