\r
Hi\r
\r
I am using gnus and notmuch, and am trying to view the thread of the\r
message I am viewing in gnus in notmuch.\r
\r
With help, I now have the following function:\r
\r
--8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8---\r
(defun rmk/do-gnus-notmuch-stuff ()\r
 (interactive)\r
 (unless (buffer-live-p gnus-summary-buffer)\r
(user-error "No open Gnus summary buffer!"))\r
 (let ((message-id (with-current-buffer gnus-summary-buffer\r
 (mail-header-id (gnus-summary-article-header)))))\r
 (message message-id)\r
(notmuch-search (concatenate 'string "id:" message-id)) ;; Now do the notmuch stuff\r
 ))\r
--8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---\r
\r
which nicely extracts the message ID and calls notmuch-search, but I\r
don't get any results. The buffer is called notmuch-search-id:<THE_MESSAGE-ID>\r
\r
I tried to call notmuch-search interactively, using id:<THE_MESSAGE-ID>\r
but also no results.\r
\r
I now tried the search from the comandline:\r
\r
,----\r
| Rainers-MacBook-Pro-2:~ rainerkrug$ notmuch search id:<e89a8f923ce652c84304f2f03b05@google.com>\r
| -bash: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'\r
| Rainers-MacBook-Pro-2:~ rainerkrug$ notmuch search id:"<e89a8f923ce652c84304f2f03b05@google.com>"\r
| Rainers-MacBook-Pro-2:~ rainerkrug$ \r
`----\r
\r
If I search for the subject, it works, but not with the message ID.\r
\r
Is there something broken?\r
\r
I am using \r
\r
- GNU Emacs 24.3.1 (x86_64-apple-darwin13.0.0, Carbon Version 1.6.0\r
AppKit 1265) of 2014-02-13 on Rainers-MacBook-Pro-2.local installed via\r
homebrew emacs-mac\r
- notmuch binary installed via homebrew q\r
\r
Cheers,\r
\r
Rainer\r
