This problem came up again on IRC a few days ago, so I'm finally\r
posting this series (which I've been running locally for months).\r
\r
The idea---which is explained in detail in the first patch---is that\r
messages in new/ are maildir messages with an empty set of maildir\r
flags. Currently we treat such messages as non-maildir messages,\r
which, in particular, means we don't automatically give them the\r
unread tag.\r
