I agree, for the most part -- but if you're attaching multiple files, or decide to change which file you're attaching, some sort of list view is necessary. Or at least, at is for me. Anyway, I tried to make it pretty unobtrusive and intuitive, so hopefully it won't *feel* too much like overkill.
