  13                 PNMixer is a simple mixer application designed to run in your system
  14                 tray. It integrates nicely into desktop environments that don't have
  15                 a panel that supports applets, and therefore can't run a mixer applet.
  16                 In particular it's been used quite a lot with fbpanel and tint2, but
  17                 should run fine in any system tray.

  19                 PNMixer is designed to work on systems that use ALSA for sound
  20                 management. Any other sound driver like OSS or FFADO, or sound
  21                 server like PulseAudio or Jackd, are currently not supported
  22                 (patches welcome).

  24                 PNMixer is a fork of OBMixer with a number of additions.
  25                 These include:
  26                         * Volume adjustment with the scroll wheel
  27                         * Select which ALSA device and channel to use
  28                         * Detect disconnect from sound system and re-connect if requested
  29                         * Bind and use HotKeys for volume control
  30                         * Texual display of volume level in popup window
  31                         * Continous volume adjustment when dragging the slider (not just
  32                                 when you let go)
  33                         * Draw a volume level onto system tray icon
  34                         * Use system icon theme for icons and use mute/low/medium/high
  35                                 volume icons
  36                         * Configurable middle click action
  37                         * Preferences for:
  38                                 - volume text display
  39                                 - volume text position
  40                                 - icon theme
  41                                 - amount to adjust per scoll
