   8   The <pkg>libmaa</pkg> library provides many low-level data structures which
   9   are helpful for writing compilers, including hash tables, sets, lists,
  10   debugging support, and memory management. Although <pkg>libmaa</pkg> was
  11   designed and implemented as a foundation for the KHEPERA Transformation
  12   System, the data structures are generally applicable to a wide range of
  13   programming problems. The memory management routines are especially helpful
  14   for improving the performance of memory-intensive applications.
